Code of Conduct

Introduction

The Digital Garden Tokyo Conference (the “Event”), owned, operated and administered by Better World KK (“Digital Garden Japan”) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and staff. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations of behavior by all attendees, speakers and service providers, to ensure a positive experience for everyone. By participating in the Event, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Expected Behavior

·        Respectful Communication: Treat all participants with respect, regardless of their background, identity, or opinions. Refrain from using language or actions that may be considered discriminatory, harassing, or offensive.

·        Inclusivity: Embrace the diversity of the Digital Garden Tokyo Conference community. Be welcoming and supportive of individuals from all backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, and religion.

·        Professional Conduct: Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. This includes interactions in person, online, and on social media. Be mindful of how your words and actions may impact others.

·        Responsible Sharing: Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants. Do not share personal information, photos, or content without express permission.

·        Constructive Engagement: Engage in discussions and debates in a constructive and respectful manner. Be open to different viewpoints and focus on contributing positively to the conversation.

Unacceptable Behavior

·        Harassment: Harassment in any form, including but not limited to verbal abuse, intimidation, stalking, unwanted advances, or inappropriate physical contact, will not be tolerated.

·        Discrimination: Discriminatory comments, jokes, or behavior based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, and religion, or any other protected characteristic or attribute are strictly prohibited.

·        Disruption: Disruptive behavior that interferes with presentations, exhibits, or other activities at the Event is not acceptable. This includes excessive noise, interruptions, or any action that detracts from the event experience.

·        Inappropriate Content: Do not share or display any content that is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a professional setting.

Reporting and Enforcement

·        Reporting Incidents: If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to event staff or via email at admin@digitalgarden.co.jp. All reports will be treated confidentially to the extent reasonably feasible and subject to applicable law.

·        Enforcement: Digital Garden Japan reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code of Conduct. This may include warnings, expulsion from the event without a refund, and/or reporting the behavior to local authorities and commencing any formal legal action.
